Budi R. Bahureksa, D.O., F.A.C.C., F.A.C.O.I., the Founder and President of Arizona Heart and Vascular Institute, is Board Certified in Cardiovascular and Internal Medicine.
Dr. Bahureksa is an Invasive/Non-interventional Cardiologist. He has special interests in Nuclear Cardiology and Pacemaker Therapy. Dr. Bahureksa provides a comprehensive cardiac care to his patients such as cardiac diagnostic imaging, echocardiography, diagnostic heart catheterization, pacemaker implantation, and preventative cardiology.
Prior coming to Arizona, he was a Partner of Delaware Cardiovascular Associates, P.C., a statewide Cardiovascular group practice, for six years. Dr. Bahureksa chose to relocate to Arizona to be closer to his family in Southern California.
Dr. Bahureksa believes strongly in getting to know his patients both on a physical and emotional level. To spend time in discussion, not just about the disease but the patient as a whole person. “I always allow my patients to be their own boss,” said Bahureksa. He believes that it is his duties and responsibilities to inform patients and general public about cardiac health and diseases, but after being fully informed, it is each individual’s responsibility to live a healthy lifestyle.
“The only thing that you may not be able to change is your genetic predisposition, keeping in mind the Genetic Engineering era we are entering, this too may change some day.” said Dr. Bahureksa. Some of the cardiac risk factors, such as Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension could be fateful. We could only try our best to keep these diseases under good control. “I don’t want my patients to be afraid to come to me for help. I’m not here to judge them. I’m here to help them.”
Cardiac diagnostic tests, Interventions and Pacemaker Technologies are continuously being improved, upgraded and perfected as fast and as best as possible. Dr. Bahureksa said improvements in cardiac care would allow patients to have a better quality of life. Pacemaker therapy is now incorporated in the treatment of Congestive Heart Failure as it is evident that by improving the cardiac electro-mechanics, the so called Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy, the cardiac function improves.
Dr. Bahureksa is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Osteopathic Internists. He is member of American Osteopathic Association, American Medical Association, American Heart Association, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, American Society of Echocardiography, Medical Society of Delaware and American Stroke Association. |
